It was a pretty good flavor!

Even though I’m not a basketball fanatic by any means, I couldn’t help but tune into the big deal decision of what team Lebron James was going to play for. Living in South Florida and hearing about the fact that he was going to play for Miami definitely made me happy. I’m not a native to the area but I have to live here for a while, so I figure, why not feel proud? Sports always brings people together, and it definitely fascinates me that people can get really passionate about the sport. After Lebron announced his decision, many of my Facebook friends (especially from up in NYC) were really pissed about the fact that he was going to play for Miami. Like I said, I don’t know the details but as far as I know, Lebron is about winning (who isn’t?) and in his interview, he said something that struck a chord to me. What he said was something that I have been dealing with for a while now. He said that at the end of the day, it’s about what makes him happy. His decision was based on the fact of happiness. Not because of what others said. And it’s true. Doing what makes you happy will only make you strive to be the best at what you’re doing. And I’m pretty sure that Lebron is going to rock (as he usually does) this season with the Miami Heat. I hear that it’s a power team with him on board, so it only makes me more curious to get back into basketball.

4th of July! I am happy to be living in a country that celebrates independence and I am definitely grateful to be living somewhere where I have opportunity to do whatever I want. Although there are things I don’t agree with, I am happy that I have the people I have in my life, and that’s all that matters!

Last night we finally watched Eclipse (in IMAX, which was definitely an awesome movie watching experience) and I really liked it.

And guess what, I’m Team Jacob! Haha, I don’t know. I am not a Twilight fanatic by any means but if I was Bella I’d choose Jacob because he walks around with no shirt (meaning he’s confident about himself) and she wouldn’t have to change into a no fanged vampire! Yeah, the vampires in this series don’t have fangs. I didn’t notice before.

Well, it’s nice to have an extra day off and just relax, which is exactly what I’ll be doing.

Today I finally got my iPhone4! This phone is pretty darn awesome. The resolution is so crisp and I love the little improvements, especially the Facetime feature. The trouble I ended up going through to finally get this phone was pretty dumb, but it made me realize that if I am assertive and aggressive enough, I can get what I want.

So, I was unsuccessful with getting a iPhone on launch day, and before that, pre-ordering was a bust because I couldn’t get through, not to mention I hated the fact that it only allowed to send to our apartment, which sucks. We’re never home during the day, and usually packages get shifted around if we actually do get something delivered. After much thought, I ended up just ordering through AT&T hoping it wouldn’t take so long and since I can track the shipment, I figure I’d go home early or something from work to make sure I was there to receive the package. It was on backorder for a few days and still wasn’t budging. I also put my name on a reserve list at the Apple store (the day after launch day) and got an email today saying that I could pick up the phone. Since I ordered through AT&T I had to cancel that order, and did that successfully. Little did I know it messed up my eligibility for the discounted price. So I called AT&T and explained to them the situation, and it was pretty damn annoying because I was on the line with a very apologetic person which is nice but just help me get my issue fixed already, and dealing with getting disconnected by AT&T customer service – TWICE! I was literally on the phone with AT&T while I was trying to get my iPhone, with the Apple employee next to me and all. Thank goodness they reversed the eligibility, giving me the discounted pricing, otherwise I would have brought that whole place down! I was pretty surprised at myself that I stood up for what I thought was the right thing, as I never really do that usually. I felt good about myself.

It’s the little things, right?

Today was an ok day. It was an eye opening day that made me really realize the way I am towards certain situations. Without going into much detail, I’ve realized that that people are who they are, and you either deal with it, or just don’t. I know that my attitude needs to be more positive and I am working on it. No matter how much I want to be positive, others will always try to bring me down and think negatively of myself. I shouldn’t have to deal with that, and I REFUSE to.

Anyway I got home with nothing to really do, and I decided to tackle organizing and getting rid of some crap out of my desk drawers that have been lingering for over a year. I’d take bills and just cram them in the drawer after I paid them instead of organizing. I have stupid crap that I don’t need and tossed it. The drawers are more organized and from now on, I’m not going to just shove things away. And can I say that I hate getting paper statements in the mail? I’ve already signed up for paperless billing for everything so I don’t expect to get any more bills in the mail.

Well, it’s close to the end of the month – and I have 2 goals for July: keep on track with my 30 Day Slimdown plan and work on my ‘project’ more.
